Remains of five killed, helicopter wreckage recovered from ocean
The remains of five people and the wreckage of a U.S. Navy helicopter that crashed in the ocean off California have been recovered.
Those killed included 21-year-old Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Bailey J. Tucker from St. Louis.
The Navy said today that a salvage team made the recovery on Friday and the remains have been sent to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware for identification.
The accident happened Aug. 31 in the waters off San Diego when a helicopter rotor hit the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln and the aircraft fell into the ocean.
