Two people dead after Saturday vehicle crash in Springfield
The investigation into the incident is ongoing
Two people died after a vehicle crash that took place on Saturday in Springfield.
Springfield Police received reports of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles around 4:41 PM.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that a 2013 Volkswagen Passat was stopped at a red light facing northbound on National at Monclair. That vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle also traveling northbound, a black 2009 Kia Spectra.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals where they later died.
The driver of the Passat was revealed to be 79-year-old Ozark resident Gerald Douglas.
The driver of the Spectra was identified as 35-year-old Nixa resident Sarah Kittrell.
