New runway extension at Columbia Regional Airport is almost complete

The runway extension at central Missouri’s Columbia Regional Airport is close to being completed.  

The extension of the primary runway will allow for longer landing and takeoff distances. 

The increased runway distance will benefit larger aircraft in the future after a new terminal is completed.  

New LED lighting will soon be installed for the entirety of the runway. 

The estimated total cost of the project is $9 million and is being funded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
