Pittsburg State University announces results of Covid-19 vaccination incentive program
Over 3,000 individuals got the vaccine between August 9 and September 17
A campaign conducted by Pittsburg State University to encouraged Covid-19 vaccination ended with over 3,000 individuals getting vaccinated.
“The incentive was announced on Aug. 9 and employees and students had until Sept. 17 to submit proof of vaccination. Incentives are being funded by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF),” according to a release from Pittsburg State University.
Students who submitted proof of vaccination will receive a $500 scholarship toward their tuition next semester. Those who graduate in December will receive the compensation as a refund.
Also, a separate drawing will be held this month that will pick two students; both of these individuals will receive an $8,500 scholarship to cover tuition, fees, and room and board for one semester.
Students must attend class on campus, or live or work on campus to be eligible for the drawing.
Employees at the university will receive a $1,000 incentive.
Pittsburg State University has held four vaccination clinic events since March 18 for a range of student audiences, as well as employees.
