Man from Neosho arrested Saturday following alleged assault at women’s rights event

A man from Neosho was arrested over the weekend following his involvement in an assault with a woman at a pro-choice women’s rights event.

The incident happened Saturday, which followed counter-protesters showing up at the rally.

Reports say that physical confrontation, loud cursing, and a heated atmosphere developed very quickly following the clash.

One individual at the event, Unique Moore, attempted to deescalate the situation by intervening.

A man involved in the situation then began punching her and threw her to the ground, where he hit her again.

The Joplin Police Department responded afterwards to the scene of the protest, Seventh and Rangeline.

The man was arrested for assault.
