Protesters turn out at Pittsburg’s Ascension Via Christi Hospital
Protesters turned out at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg Saturday afternoon.
They were opposing the hospital’s vaccine mandate that was announced in late July.
A posting on the Via Christi webpage says the timeline for completing the vaccine series is November 12th.
The posting says Ascension will require that all employees there be vaccinated whether or not they provide direct patient care and whether they work onsite or remotely.
The mandate includes associates employed by subsidiaries or partners, physicians and advance practice providers, volunteers and vendors.
Ascension says there will be a process for exemption consideration for people with medical conditions, and strongly-held religious beliefs.
