New Inspector General for Kansas Department of Transportation announced
Jill Burton assumes the role this month
Jill Burtin has been named the Inspector General for the Kansas Department of Transportation, according to a news release from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Burtin will start in the role this month.
“The role of the Inspector General focuses on auditing processes and procedures already in place that help protect taxpayer dollars. Both the internal auditors and agency’s contact auditors will now serve under Burtin so that all auditors will be part of the OIG,” according to the same new release.
Burtin previously was a teacher for four years, spent 18 years with Mize CPA preparing financial statements and was later on the technical tax team.
She then worked as team leader in the accounting services department, followed by two years of work at Keller and Owens in Overland Park as a bookkeeper, where she prepared financial statements and sales tax returns for clients.
