No criminal charges planned against former OU lobbyist

Cleveland County Oklahoma District Attorney Greg Mashburn says he will not pursue criminal charges against the University of Oklahoma’s former top lobbyist who resigned after a woman alleged he assaulted her.

Mashburn said Tuesday after reviewing the woman’s allegations against John Woods, he determined the facts did not support a criminal charge.

Mashburn says Woods twice attempted to kiss the woman after the two had met at a Norman, Oklahoma bar but the woman successfully rejected those advances.

Woods’ attorney, Steve Stice, says his client appreciates the prosecutor’s decision and is ready to move on
