Kansas Highway Patrol troops being deployed to Louisiana to assist with Hurricane Ida Recovery
The troops will be deployed for 16 days, starting September 25
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced today that the Kansas Highway Patrol would be deployed to Louisiana Saturday, September 25th to provide additional support in areas affected by Hurricane IDA.
This deployment is part of the Emergency Management Assitance Compact, a multistate agreement that allows states to send government aid to other states in emergency situations, according to a news release from Governor Laura Kelly’s office.
16 Mobile Field Force Troopers with equipment will be sent to areas affected by Ida on a 16-day deployment, which starts September 25.
Their goal is to augment the Louisiana State Police with additional personnel for law enforcement functions.
