Jasper County making an effort to help man’s best friend.

Jasper County Sheriff Randee Kaiser reports on September 21st, the county animal control officer assisted the Oronogo Police Department in reference to the owner of 18  dogs in that community who voluntarily released ownership.

That  follows the release of eight dogs just one month ago.

Six people, including a law enforcement officer, had been bitten by the dogs.

The owner previously had been cited for having dogs without tags, dogs at large and vicious dogs.

The animals were taken to the Joplin Humane Society where they will be examined and then made available for adoption.
