Employers to visit Pitt State College of Technology Tuesday, Wednesday
Representative from more than 170 companies from across the nation are expected to flood into the Pitt State College of Technology next week in hopes of recruiting students for internships and jobs.
The event is called “Company Days” and returns this year after a hiatus in 2020.
On Tuesday, 107 companies will visit and their focus will be on students in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, 2-yr Electrical Technology, Environmental and Safety Management, Graphics & Imaging Technologies, and Architectural Manufacturing Management and Technology.
On Wednesday, 70 companies will visit and their focus will be on students in Automotive Technology, Diesel & Heavy Equipment, Electronics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Plastics Engineering Technology.
The School of Construction is drawing the most interest, at 83 companies, and faculty in the school say they can’t turn out graduates quickly enough to meet demand.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Kansas Technology Center at Ford and Rouse both days and will be modified with COVID-19 mitigation strategies.
