Missouri Senator Josh Hawley demands explanation from Google CEO after alleged censoring of Pro-Life Organizations

The organizations receiving the alleged censorship are Choose Life and Live Action

Missouri US Senator Josh Hawley has expressed concern to Google’s CEO in a letter demanding an explanation for ads placed by Pro-Life organizations that have allegedly been censored.

A news release from Senator Hawley’s Office says, “Choose Life Marketing is a Missouri company that works with pregnancy resource centers throughout the country by developing and circulating online ads detailing women’s health services that the centers offer. Recently, while attempting to run ads for a client in the Washington, D.C. metro area, Choose Life Marketing realized that these ads were not running, even though Google designated them as eligible. Compounding the issue, pro-life advocacy group Live Action reported yesterday that its ads had similarly been disapproved by Google—suggesting a broader pattern of targeting on Google’s part.”

Senator Hawley writes to Mark Zuckerberg that despite previous discussions about the issue, Hawley’s concerns have been left unaddressed.

Hawley also requested Mr. Pichai explain the disruption of Choose Life Marketing ads in the D.C. area and why they aren’t appearing online as well as the abrupt disapproval of Live Action’s advertising campaigns by Google.
