City of Joplin announces temporary closure of parking garage

The City of Joplin has announced that the parking garage at 6th Street and Virginia Avenue will be partially closed starting Friday, September 10, and remain closed through Sunday, September 12, according to a news release from the city.

The northern concrete area in the garage will be closed.

This closure is occurring so so data can be collected by Allgeir, Martin and Associates and their sub-consultants in an effort to evaluate the structure; their goal is to form plans on how to rehabilitate the structure so it can continue to serve the Joplin community.
