Governor Mike Parson proclaims September 5-11 as Suicide Prevention Week

Governor Mike Parson proclaimed today that September 5 – September 11, 2021, as Suicide Prevention Week in Missouri.

This partnership between the Department of Mental Health, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, other state agencies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration is committed to sharing resources promoting suicide prevention awareness, and helping those in need.

In Missouri, more than 1,100 die by suicide each year, which is an average of one person every seven hours.
