Drug charges filed against Galena man

A stop Wednesday night in Joplin has led to drug charges against a Galena, Kansas man.

Capt. William Davis of the Joplin Police Department tells NewsTalk KZRG that 35-year-old Kurtis S. Shaffer has been charged with two felony counts of drug possession after a stop near 34th and Range Line Wednesday night.

A search of his car led to the discovery of several bags of methamphetamine, cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and a number of pills.

In addition to the felony counts, Shaffer also was served with a warrant out of the state of Colorado.
