Tulsa offers employees $250 stipend for virus vaccination

TULSA, Okla. (AP) – City employees in Tulsa are being offered a $250 stipend for receiving a coronavirus vaccination, plus a possible additional $250 if their department reaches vaccination goals.

The City Council voted Wednesday night for the stipends for employees who are fully vaccinated by Oct. 15.

The council also voted to provide another $250 to vaccinated employees in departments with a more than 70% total employee vaccination rate.

The state health department on Wednesday reported 17 ICU beds available, 5.9% of the total number of intensive care beds in Tulsa as the delta-fueled variant of the virus has led to a surge of cases statewide.
