Man suspected in machete attack previously fired crossbow
(AP) — An eastern Missouri man being sought for an attack with a machete had a previous conviction for firing a crossbow and assault rifle at an acquaintance.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 31-year-old Ted Treece of High Ridge was charged in at-large warrants Wednesday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
He is accused of hitting a man with a machete inside a House Springs convenience store on Tuesday.
The victim was not badly injured.
Court records show that Treece was convicted and placed on probation for firing a crossbow and assault rifle at an acquaintance in 2018. The man suffered a hand injury.
Treece was accused last month of a probation violation.
