Ft. Scott Community College football player dies

Fort Scott Community College reporting the death of one of their football team members.   

In a Facebook statement, the college reported that player Tirrell Williams died Friday afternoon after collapsing on the field during football practice on Wednesday, August 4th.

“Our Greyhound family has suffered a devastating loss. We send all our prayers, love and support to the family of Tirrell Williams who passed away this afternoon (Friday) after collapsing during football practice on Wednesday, August 4.  We will do everything we can to support Tirrell’s family and our student-athletes through this tragedy. Please respect the privacy of Tirrell’s family and members of our team as they grieve their loss.

Contributions to help defray the family’s costs for final expenses can be left with Tom Havron or Juley McDaniel.”
