Missouri dog breeder shut down following violation of legislation

The company's name is Magic Puppies

A Missouri dog breeder has been shut down after they were found to have violated the Animal Care Facilities Act.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt filed a suit on July 20 seeking emergency court relief in opposition to commercial breeder Andre Damrill of Magic Puppies, which operated in McDonald County.

The suit states that Damrill consistently refused inspections by the Department of Agriculture officials; she was also 74 days over for an annual inspection of her facilities from July 14.

Through an inspection, officials noticed several boxers who were running around the area in a notably thin state and also fleas on the dogs.

Some dogs were found dead, according to reports.

Following warrant executions, the remaining dogs were removed with assistance from the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office.

Further inspection found that the dogs did not have access to clean water, the facilities were not ventilated or air-conditioned, and weeds and tall grass were not trimmed.
