Springfield physician announces candidacy for 7th District seat

Springfield TV station KY3 reporting today that Springfield physician Dr. Sam Alexander has announced his candidacy for the 7th Congressional District seat currently held by Congressman Billy Long.

Long is running for the U.S. Senate.

Alexander cited concerns over inflation, worker shortages, the border crisis and election fairness in making his decision to run.

He says he will work to correct America’s problems in a bipartisan manner.

Alexander has been an E.R. physician at Springfield’s Cox Health System for the last 30 years.
