Police: Stolen car fleeing traffic stop crashes, kills man

ST. LOUIS (AP) – Police in north St. Louis say a man has died after his truck was hit by stolen car that was fleeing police.

Officials say the crash happened Saturday afternoon, when officers tried to pull over a car that had been reported stolen.

Police say that instead of stopping, the car sped off. Police say the car later ran a stop sign and plowed into a pickup truck.

Police say the 53-year-old driver of the truck was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Officers say three teens in the car ranging in age from 16 to 17 were arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police did not immediately release the names of the man killed or the teens arrested.
