Police: Probe of human remains now homicide investigation
(AP) — Police say they are now conducting a homicide investigation into human skeletal remains found last winter in a wooded area in the heart of Kansas City.
Police announced the news in a written release Friday, citing an extensive examination of the remains over several months that revealed injuries that appear suspicious.
Police are still working to identify the victim, believed to be a man. The skeletal remains were found March 2 near West 34th Street and Roanoke Road.
