Group of Oklahoma City landlords to pay 1.2 million to settle sexual harassment lawsuit
The settlement decision was announced Wednesday
(AP) – A group of Oklahoma City landlords has agreed to pay $1.2 million to settle a lawsuit alleging its former agent sexually harassed female tenants. The U.S. Department of Justice announced the settlement Wednesday with defendants Rosemarie Pelfrey, Omega Enterprises LLC and Pelfrey Investment Company Inc. The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division alleged the company’s former agent, Walter Ray Pelfrey, sexually harassed more than 40 female tenants and prospective tenants over a nearly 20-year period. Walter Pelfrey died in 2018. A message seeking comment left Wednesday with attorneys for the companies wasn’t immediately returned.
