Mayor Ryan Stanley gives update on COVID-19 in Joplin
COVID-19 is raging through Missouri, especially in Southwest Missouri including Springfield and Joplin.
Joplin Mayor Ryan Stanley talked about the situation in Joplin on Monday’s edition of the KZRG Morning Newswatch.
“I got an update last night from Freeman,” Mayor Stanley said. Forty-five of their 211 people in the hospital are fighting COVID. That’s 21 percent of their patient base”
“I know that Mercy is close to that,” he added. “The last numbers we had from the city showed 97 people in the hospital. So it is still here, still dangerous, still threatening.”
The Mayor says if you’re open to being vaccinated the City of Joplin encourages you to get your shots.
The city of Joplin announced three more deaths related to COVID-19. They included a man in his 50s, a woman in her 60s, and a woman in her 90s.
