Authorities searching for three McDonald County Jail escapees
Law enforcement authorities from multiple agencies are searching for three escapees from the McDonald County jail.
The trio overpowered a guard in Pinevile Saturday evening. They attempted to steal a car and then headed into a wooded area in McDonald County.
Capt. Chris Allison of the McDonald County Sheriff’s Department tells NewsTalk KZRG the subjects were last sighted just after 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. He says the female Detention Officer who was attacked sustained minor injuries during the escape.
“All three subjects are to be considered armed and dangerous,” Capt. Allison states. “If located, all 911 immediately.”
“Do not attempt to apprehend them on your own,” he adds. “All three were being held in the McDonald County Detention Center for violent offences.”
The three are said to have extensive criminal histories. They are identified as:
- Shun’tavion Ladarrias Thomas, 23-year-old Black man last seen wearing white pants and a white shirt.
- David Molina, 49-year-old Hispanic man last seen wearing orange and white stripe pants and a white shirt.
- Carmelo Miguel Burgos, 27-year-old Hispanic man last seen wearing orange and white stripe pants and no shirt.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, have been participating in the search. The Highway Patrol is conducting a search from the air.
Capt. Allison encourages residents in extreme southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas to lock and secure their homes, buildings,and vehicles.
