Appeal to Kansas Supreme Court about Senate Bill 40
Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt filed a notice of appeal in a Johnson County Court Wednesday of a case that was ruled unenforceable.
The law was Kansas Senate Bill 40 that went into effect recently that reforms the Kansas Emergency Act.
According to Schmidt, the court’s ruling against the bill was causing unnecessary and disruptive confusion.
In the filing was a request that the lower court issue a stay of their order while the appeal process took place.
The appeal was made to the Kansas Supreme Court.
