Parson signs SB 258 into law; National Guard Armory named after fallen soldier
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has signed a bill into law to create the Missouri Medal of Honor Recipients Fund to receive donations to repair and replace memorial signs for Medical of Honor recipients.
SB 258 also designates the Missouri National Guard Armory in Joplin as the “Sgt. Robert Wayne Crow, Jr. Memorial Armory.”
The 42-year-old Crow of Kansas City was killed in Afghanistan on July 10, 2010 when insurgents attacked his vehicle with an IED.
He was assigned to the 203rd Engineer Battalion of the Missouri National Guard in Joplin.
SB 258 also designates four additional segments of Missouri highway as part of the Purple Heart Trail, and establishes numerous memorial highways and bridges across the state.
