FRA Extension Legislation is Heading to Missouri Governor’s Desk
Bipartisan legislation extending a critical funding mechanism for Missouri’s Medicaid program is now heading to the governor’s desk.
The Missouri House voted 140-13 to give final approval today to legislation extending the Federal Reimbursement Allowance (FRA), which provides half of the funding for health care services for Missouri’s most vulnerable residents.
The Missouri Pharmacy Association and 20 other statewide health groups warned that letting FRA expire would collapse the entire health care system, causing pharmacies across rural Missouri to close, especially in the Bootheel and in southwest Missouri.
Governor Parson has warned that failure to extend the FRA would cost Missouri 591-million dollars in fiscal year 2022.
