Council to hear presentation from scooter company

Will a company that provides rental scooters set up operations in Joplin?

That’s one of the subjects the Joplin City Council will cover Monday night.

Bird Scooters will make a presentation to the Council.

If the Council likes what it hears, the company will offer the same type of service to Joplin as it does to over 200 other cities in the nation.

Customers can locate the scooters by way of a cellphone app which includes a brief lesson on how to operate the stand- up vehicles.

The Council meeting will get underway at 6 p.m. Monday evening in Council Chambers in City Hall, located at 602 S. Main.
