Woman sentenced to 20 years for crash that killed 4 people
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – A 27-year-old Kansas City woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a crash that killed four people while she was fleeing from police in 2018.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday that Victoria Brown was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree murder.
The 20-year penalty for each crime will run concurrently.
Prosecutors said Independence police began chasing a stolen Jeep driven by Brown after she failed to stop at an intersection in June 2018.
She fled into Kansas City, where the Jeep crashed into a vehicle carrying four passengers, killing three of them.
A passenger in the Jeep also died.
