Toddler killed, woman hurt in hit-and-run crash

JENNINGS, Mo. (AP) – A 2-year-old boy was killed and a woman was critically hurt when a vehicle hit them as they were crossing a street in a St. Louis suburb.

Police said the vehicle fled after crashing into the pedestrians shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday in Jennings, Missouri.

Officers found the woman, the boy and an infant in a car seat after the crash on Jennings Station Road.

The boy died at the scene of the crash, and the woman, who is in her mid-20s was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The infant was unhurt.
