Oklahoma agencies barred from vaccination, mask mandates

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has signed an executive order to prohibit state agencies from adopting mask or coronavirus vaccination requirements.

Stitt signed the order Friday and said in a statement that Oklahomans should have access to government services whether or not they choose to be vaccinated or wear a mask.

Stitt refused to issue a statewide mask mandate, but in November required masks inside state buildings, an order that was lifted in March.

Stitt announced the order after signing into law a bill prohibiting schools and colleges from adopting mask or vaccination requirements.

The order does not apply in medical settings with patients.
