Schreiber Foods moves ahead with major expansion in Carthage

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Schreiber Foods in Carthage is moving ahead with a major expansion.

Work will begin this summer on a $52 million project that will double the size of Schreiber’s Carthage operation.

The City of Carthage and the Jasper County Commission have agreed to millions of dollars in tax abatements.

Schreiber, an international dairy corporation, will pick up half of about $3 million of the cost for street improvements, including a new roundabout on Fir Road near its intersection with the southbound ramps to I-49.

Schreiber officials tell NewsTalk KZRG the expansion will create about 16 new jobs.
