State Senator Bill White explains his yes vote on gas tax

Missouri State Senator Bill White of Joplin says he voted yes on the new gas tax that passed in the last legislative session.
“Well, I’ve always supported the gas tax. We need to have more money for the roads. We have not had a fuel tax increase in 25 years. The purchase value of the dollar from then to now is it buys about fifty nine percent of what it was back then.”
White says the gas tax increase will only be used on roads, locally, at the county level and state wide, including the state Highway Patrol. According to Senator White, that is in the state constitution.
State Senator Bill White was on Friday’s News Talk KZRG’s Morning News Watch.
