Missouri DHSS signs order allowing for Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine administration to Missouri individuals under 15
313,000 additional people will now have access to the vaccine
On Wednesday, May 12, Acting Director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Robert Knodell and Dr. George Turabelidze, State Epidemiologist, signed the order that Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine can be administered for individuals 12 to 15 years of age in the state of Missouri, according to a news release.
This decision was made after recommendations by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to the Centers for Disease Control(CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration that the Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective at preventing Covid-19.
This expanded authorization creates vaccine eligibility for 313,0000 additional individuals
The Pfizer-Biontech Covid-19 vaccine is administered through a two-step process that takes place at least three weeks apart.
