Response to lawsuit

St. Louis County Executive Sam Page is responding to the lawsuit filed against the county’s COVID restrictions by Attorney General Eric Schmitt. 

The lawsuit challenges St. Louis County’s COVID-19 restrictions, citing concerns about the impact on religion, education, and the freedom of residents. 

The suit names St. Louis County Executive Sam Page, the county’s health department and its director. Page’s spokesperson released a statement that reads in part, “We all know Mr. Schmitt is trying to increase his profile statewide and suing those protecting the health and safety of residents is apparently one of the ways he has chosen to do that.” 

The suit seeks an injunction to end the county restrictions.
