Baker announces bid for House Speaker position

Neosho State Rep. Ben Baker announced his bid for Missouri House Speaker Pro Tem today.

In announcing his intentions Baker talked about the value of his rural upbringing.

The Republican has represented Newton County since 2019. Baker is a minister and former dean of students at the Ozark Bible Institute.

He also served as the former mayor of Neosho mayor.

The new Speaker Pro Tem will be elected in the fall of 2022 after Election Day.
