Guilty plea to assault charge

A 27 year old man from Festus pleaded guilty Monday to an assault charge in the Jasper County Circuit Court.

Jacob Besore was sentenced to four years in prison after agreeing to a plea agreement dismissing related counts of second degree robbery, stealing and possession of a controlled substance.

A Carl Junction officer on patrol back on July 3rd of last year witnessed the defendant pick up a woman and slam her to the ground.  The officer also discovered pill bottles with someone else’s name on it filled with medicine.
