Missouri caucus formed with the United Kingdom
A bipartisan group of more than 30 Missouri lawmakers has created the nation’s first “Friends of the United Kingdom” Caucus, which highlights the relationship between the Show-Me State and the UK. Chesterfield GOP State Representative Derek Grier, who chairs the caucus, says Missouri has a tremendous partnership with the United Kingdom:
Grier stated “… kind of a special relationship with them. And particularly this year, being the 75th anniversary of that historic talk (1946 Iron Curtain speech) that Winston Churchill did in Fulton, Missouri”
Grier is referring to Churchill’s famous 1946 “Iron Curtain” speech at Westminster College. Grier says there are currently more than 50 British companies in Missouri, including Unilever and WPP.
