Freeman Health System holds ribbon cutting for new MONARCH Robotic Bronchoscopy program to diagnose lung cancer early

The tool gives pulmonologists a better way to see the inside of a patients lungs and more precision for diagnosing and treating lung cancer.

“Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States.”

These were the words of Freeman Health System President and CEO Paula Baker, who later announced Thursday morning that the institution would be the first in the region to utilize the MONARCH Robotic Bronchoscopy program to diagnose lung cancer early.

 

Lung cancer is the most lethal type of cancer, claiming more victims each year than breast, colon, and prostate cancers combined.
