Crowder College to host Camp AMPED program in July
The program aims to attract future engineers, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers
Crowder College will be hosting a summer camp that’s designed to help inspire the next generation of inventors, engineers, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers.
Camp AMPED is for girls and boys ages 14-16 and will take place July 12-16 at the Joplin Advanced Training and Technology Center located at 420 Grand in Joplin, according to a Crowder College News Release.
Students in the AMPED program, which stands for Advanced Manufacturing Product Entrepreneurial Design, will learn basic Computer Aided Drafting skills, scaling/dimensioning, blueprint reading, reverse engineering, and 3D printing for prototyping.
“The registration fee is $99 per student, which includes a camp t-shirt, instruction and materials, and lunch. Due to the hands-on nature of the program, space is limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.”
