Woman from Cassville falls victim to bitcoin scam
A woman from Cassville recently fell victim to a bitcoin scam. She sent in $200 electronically and was instantly told she had earned a profit of over $30,000.
But it was all a fraud. The scammers posed as representatives of an Investment Coaching Service.
Stephanie Garland of the Better Business Bureau says the Social Media account looked legitimate.
“They sent her fake screen shots that showed her things that were happening and made up graphs that were not. legitimate,” Garland states.
“She thankfully did not the additional $700 they asked for,” Garland adds, “but she did lose $200.”
Garland says you shouldn’t invest in something you don’t know about and you haven’t researched for several hours if not several days.
