Governor Parson in Joplin

Missouri Governor Mike Parson was in Joplin for two events Thursday morning.

 He joined city leaders for the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art distribution center for Casey’s General Stores, which is bringing 125 new jobs to the region.

 The governor then stopped by Kansas City University Medical School for a tour of the current school and to see the construction site for the new dental school coming to Joplin.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson was in Joplin to discuss his workforce development program.  Parson told KZRG news the program would prepare the workforce for tomorrow.  Parson said “We’re number 2 in the United States in apprentice programs.  We’re in the top 10 for economic recovery because of the programs we put in place 3 years ago.”
