The color purple shines in recognition of Military Child's Day.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson has ordered the Missouri State Capital dome and Missouri Governor’s Mansion to shine purple on Thursday, April 15 in recognition of Military Child’s Day.
The dome and Governor’s Mansion will light up at sunset on April 15 and remain lit until sunrise on April 16, according to a news release from Governor Mike Parson Office.
The color purple represents all branches of the military – the combination of each of their respective colors combined into one.
Missourians are encouraged to wear purple on April 15 to show their support military children.
Businesses are encouraged to incorporate purple in their window displays and entrances.
