Two arrested during traffic stops Sunday afternoon in Pittsburg, Kansas
The first stop occurred at 4:30 PM and the second at 5 PM
Two traffic stops resulted in the arrest of two individuals in Pittsburg, Kansas Sunday afternoon.
The first stop occurred at 4:30 PM, when a pickup failed to yield, began to flee from the officer by pulling through a car wash and parking lot.
After several street changes, the driver, 31-year-old Pittsburgh resident Derek Koehn, was taken into custody after he finally stopped.
Koehn was arrested for felony fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, misdemeanor driving while suspended, and other related traffic violations
Koehn is being held at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office on a $3,000.00 bond.
The second stop occurred at 5 PM, when a Pittsburg law enforcement officer attempted to stop a Mazda passenger car.
After failure to yield, the vehicle fled, changed streets several times, 18-year-old Ryan Mitchell was arrested on charges for felony fleeing to elude law enforcement, felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, misdemeanor operation of a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mitchell’s bond is set at $25,000 bond.
