Tulsa Cancer Treatment Centers of America to close June 1

Patient access and insurance limitations cited

CTCA Tulsa will close operations as of June 1, 2021.

“CTCA has been proud to serve the community and cancer patients from our location in Tulsa, Oklahoma, over the past 30 years,” says Dana Haynie, President of CTCA Tulsa. “Our top priorities during this transition will be to provide a seamless transition of our patients’ care and ensure our 400 employees are provided with resources and support as they navigate this difficult time as well.”

Officials from CTCA say what they call “insurmountable patient access and insurance limitations, ” highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, that have  restricted patient care options and prevented choice.

“After exhausting all options, unfortunately, we realized the Oklahoma market was not going to expand options for patients to treat at CTCA Tulsa, which led to this very difficult decision,” officials from the hospital said.

CTCA Tulsa will close operations as of June 1. Officials say the hospital is committed to ensuring the seamless transition of patient care to either another CTCA hospital or to local options, as preferred.

The hospital says patients with scheduled appointments, need to take no action. In the coming weeks, the CTCA team will reach out and begin to walk patients through next steps as it is critical that they continue with appropriate medical care.

“Please be patient with us as we contact each patient and diligently work to ensure a seamless transition of your care,” CTCA officials said.
