Man from Springfield sentenced for 2017 sex crimes
Jose Rivera will face 18 years in prison
A man from Springfield was sentenced Friday in a sex crimes investigation that dates back three years to 2017.
32-year-old Jose Neptali Rivera will face 18 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after being convicted on one charge of first-degree rape.
A Greene County Prosecuting Attorney news release says that Rivera raped an intellectually-disabled woman who previously disappeared from here home in April of 2017.
The victim was found at a nearby trailer after missing for a few days.
During the trial, the victim stated that when she was in a nearby trailer, she had been sexually assaulted and indicated that three men had assaulted her.
The two other men involved in the situation, Helmer Erazo and Luis Lopez-Lara, were accused but found not guilty by a different Green Count judge in February of 2019.
