School board seats up for grabs Tuesday

Some local school board races in southwest Missouri will be decided at the polls Tuesday.

In Joplin, three candidates are trying to win the two open seats.

The candidates for the three-year positions are Joshua Bard, John Hird and Rylee Hartwell.

In Carthage, two seats also are up for grabs.

Incumbents Bill Lasley and Lee Elliff Pound and one newcomer, Nathan Scott, are vying for three-year terms on the board in that school district.
