Boy drowns in Polk County farm pond

A 15-year-old boy died Friday evening in a private pond in Polk County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the boy, who was not identified, was from Halfway, Missouri.

The pond was located near Pleasant Hope.

The boy reportedly fell overboard, called out for help, but did not resurface.

Polk County is just north of Springfield.
