Two ATV accidents injure three Saturday in SW Missouri
Two accidents involving Polaris ATVs took place in southwest Missouri on Saturday, injuring three people.
Around 11 a.m., a 16 year old girl from Battlefield was operating a 2016 Polaris Outlaw in a wooded area in Christian County. She lost control of the vehicle on steep dirt embankment and overturned. She was thrown off the ATV and struck a tree.
The girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
Then, a little before 5 p.m., a 2020 Polaris Ranger overturned while making a U-Turn on a farm road near Washburn in Barry County.
The driver, 34-year-old Thomas J. Herrnnan of Cassville suffered minor injuries.
His passenger, a 15-year-old male juvenile from Seligman, suffered moderate injuries.
The teen was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas.
